Cotton On Knitwear - Shot by Anshuman Ghosh

As most of you know, Instagram has become a hub for people to express their hidden photography talents even more so than ever before.

Every now and again I find myself searching random hash tags for inspiration and I come across amazing posts on Instagram. That's basically how I came across Anshuman Ghosh (find him on his Instagram handle @moography).

Anshuman and I decided to do this latest collaboration together because I simply loved the unique way he shoots his images. He only makes use of an iPhone to shoot and he makes use of a technique called phone framing which you will understand when you see the images below. Another amazing thing about Anshuman is that he has only been doing phone framing for about three months! He started off with ninety odd followers and his base has grown exceedingly since then.

Since the cold front decided to set in, this week's look posts were all based around Cotton On Knitwear. Whether it's knitted dresses, ponchos, knitted capes,  hats, scarves, ear muffs or any kind of jersey, Cotton On will have you covered (pun intended). All of the items from this shoot can be found at your nearest Cotton On store.

I had so much fun working with Anshuman, an "iphonographer" with a remarkable eye for unique photographs. Do follow his page to see more!

Cotton On Active Wear

I truly believe that active wear is meant to make you feel empowered. Being active is an empowering thing and the biggest trouble I have with wanting to be active is winter.

Thanks to Cotton On it isn't really a problem because of their new range of winter active wear! You'll look good and feel warm at the same time so being active will be top of mind. I had the privilege of picking what I wanted from the Rosebank store and I was pleased to find all the active wear had an amazing fit, felt comfortable but most of all it made me feel empowered because of how fashionable it all was. My favourite piece from the shoot was this trendy grey jacket. It had a cosy feel to it and was easy to move about in (it's longer in the back and has thumb hole detailing) for any kind of outdoor activity.

I was able to move about freely as Layla made me try more adventurous poses.

The nice thing about all these items is that they come in a range of colours so you can really get active according to your preference.

Aside from being great for outdoor activities, the sports luxe trend makes these garments just as great to wear out to social events or for whenever you're on the go. I for one am already thinking of where I want to wear this grey jacket to next.

Goodbye to the winter blues and hello to feeling active again.

A Taste of RELIC

One of the things I love most about studying at a fashion school is that I get to go through my degree, with some remarkably talented "creatives". One of whom is Alexandra Harrison who has taken it upon herself to pursue her dreams and create her own clothing label called "RELIC".

She says "I try to give the brand a competitive edge by quickly reacting to customer’s needs.  Each RELIC item is either one of a kind or comes in limited items per style. This provides customers with quirky, exclusive pieces. RELIC also has a thrift section. A RELIC THRIFT offers an array of carefully selected fashionable thrifty finds at affordable prices." Alex's clothing is everything from unique, stylish, vintage, to quirky. She showcases her garments at certain markets like the Social Market, and she will be showcasing at the Tin Factory this coming weekend. If you're looking for something one of a kind and proudly South African, Relic is the place to get it.

This shoot focuses on "The Everyday Fashionable Girl":
