Today marks the start of a new adventure for me. I have officially started working at The Sunday Times newspaper as their newest Fashion/Beauty/Decor assistant. I am super excited to learn more about each avenue of my job title.
I would like to thank you all for the wonderful support that I have received and I wish you all the best for 2017. I will be continuing my blog while working as well.
For the first look post of this year, I decided to keep it edgy with a bit of whimsy. One of my favourite clothing items that I purchased recently, while travelling to Bali and Singapore, is this sheer net dress. I love it because it's super versatile and easy to style.
Read about three easy ways to style the sheer net dress below:
Dress (underneath): Vintage
Netted dress (on top): Pull & Bear
Shoes: Eureka Shoes
Bag: Stradivarius
When it comes to sheer clothing, you should never shy away from it. It could be the extra pick-me-up your outfit needs for a wow effect.
*How I styled it*
You could wear the sheer dress with a shorter dress under in the same colour to keep it minimal. For extra effect, I'd add statement shoes and a great clutch bag like I've done in this look-post.
*Party trick*
Another way to style the dress to look classier, is to wear a longer length black dress underneath it. You can wear an old black dress under, most people won't even notice! It will look brand new with the added texture of the sheer dress on top.
*A cool twist*
Try wearing a boyfriend jeans and a casual tee under the sheer dress. It will give the look a new dimension, making people look twice. Pair the look with sneakers to finish it off.
There you have it, three ways to style and create a unique look with just one garment. There is no Pull & Bear in South Africa but I would suggest trying to find the sheer dress at any fast fashion retailer like Zara, Topshop or H&M.
Happy hunting. :)
